A short list, because what we cut depends on what was beautiful at the farm on Tuesday. Subscribers see this list a day early.
Soft pinks and a single moody burgundy peony, against the silver of eucalyptus — the smell when you open the box is genuinely the best part of a Wednesday. Cut Tuesday from Highgate Farm in Fairview. Lasts seven days with a fresh cut and clean water.
Petal & Bloom opened in 2014 in a single room on Wall Street, with a cooler the size of a refrigerator and a Tuesday-morning standing order from three farms. The cooler is a little bigger now. The order is from twelve farms.
Everything in the shop is sourced from within a hundred-mile drive — the French Broad valley, the Hickory Nut gorge, a tulip grower in Boone, a dahlia farm in Hendersonville, and a single fragrant-rose breeder up the road in Marshall. If it doesn’t grow here, we mostly don’t use it.
The same week’s arrangement, sized to fit the room. Free delivery in Asheville on orders over $60; everywhere else, in-store pickup or Mountain Express courier.
For a kitchen counter or a desk. Five — seven stems, hand-tied, in a small glass cylinder.
For a living room, a kitchen island, an “I’m sorry” or a “thank you.” Twelve — fifteen stems, full and forgiving.
For a dining room, a milestone, a hospital lobby. Twenty-plus stems with greenery; we’ll find a vessel that suits.
We take a small number of wedding florals each year so the work stays personal. The first conversation is always free — an hour at the shop, a coffee, a flip through your inspiration. Quotes within a week.
Bouquet, boutonnieres, two arrangements. For an elopement, a courthouse, a Tuesday in the garden.
Bouquets, ceremony pieces, ten table centerpieces, install & strike included. For 60 — 100 guests.
Ceremony arch or chuppah, fifteen-plus tables, hanging install, late-night strike, full design partnership.
A small, seasonal bouquet at your door every other Friday, for as long as you want it. Skip a week, pause for travel, cancel any time. No re-ups, no auto-renewal scams.
The point of a flower subscription, we think, is not the flowers. It’s the small ritual of putting them in water on Friday evening, of having a thing on the table that wasn’t there yesterday, of being reminded that a small beautiful gesture happens whether you remember to make it or not.
Three sizes, every-other-Friday, all the way down to a single “something for the kitchen.” Hand-tied at the bench, packed in a recyclable kraft wrap, on your doorstep by 18:00.
