// 01

front-end engineering

React, Next.js, TypeScript. Production-grade dashboards, marketing sites, design system implementation, accessibility & performance audits.

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Ut elit tellus, luctus nec ullamcorper mattis, pulvinar dapibus leo.

// 02

back-end & apis

Node, Postgres, Drizzle / Prisma, REST & tRPC. Stripe + Cloudflare + Vercel + AWS infra. Pragmatic, boring tech that lasts.

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Ut elit tellus, luctus nec ullamcorper mattis, pulvinar dapibus leo.

// 03

ui design & systems

Figma libraries, design tokens, IA, prototyping. Particularly enjoy working with small product teams that need both design and code from the same person.

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Ut elit tellus, luctus nec ullamcorper mattis, pulvinar dapibus leo.

// 04

perf & reliability

LCP/CLS/INP audits, bundle-size triage, server-side caching, image & font strategy. Often called in when a fast prototype became a slow product.

$ cat ./about.md

code with restraint, design with care.

I started writing for the web in 2017 as a print designer trying to make brochures move. Two career pivots later, I lead engineering at small product teams and design as much as I code. I keep a small client roster on purpose — usually one main engagement, plus a long-running design-system retainer.

Outside the keyboard: I run a tiny zine about typography (kerning quarterly), I help organize Brooklyn JS, and I am fairly serious about espresso. If we are going to work together I would rather meet in person, in a kitchen, with a notebook.

Alex shipped what three agencies could not. He thinks like a product owner and codes like an engineer with skin in the game.

The rare designer who can also actually build the thing. Our marketing site went from a Friday afternoon side project to the best converting page we have ever owned.

Showed up, asked the right questions, left us with a documented design system and a team that knew how to maintain it. Zero hand-holding required after handoff.

got a project? let's talk.

I take on one main engagement at a time. Currently booking Q3 2026 starts. Send a few lines about what you are building — the more concrete, the better.
